After a very short-lived stint as a drive-thru coffee shop, this building on the corner of Kent Street finally found new life recently as Red Sauce, a casual Italian restaurant. This eatery’s aim is on yummy meatballs and craft cocktails with a “Brooklyn-meets-Philly-meets-Little Italy-meets-the 1960s-meets-Chattanooga” approach. Although currently we’re hearing some mixed reviews on the eatery, it’s not uncommon for a new place to need a minute to work out the kinks. Give it a try and let us know what you think!

This Northshore salon has differentiated itself by offering a unique environmentally-conscious approach to hair care and beauty services. Pasha Salon is the first salon in Chattanooga to receive a GreenCircle certification, which is a designation achieved only by salons committed to recycling and repurposing upwards of 95 percent of all chemical, metal, paper, plastic and hair waste. It was reported by GreenCircle that, on average, hair salons in North America are responsible for more than 421,206 pounds of waste daily, so this effort from Pasha is worth a trip to check them out. Services at Pasha include haircuts, hair coloring, conditioning and nontoxic smoothing treatments, extensions, waxing services and makeup amenities.

Nestled in downtown Chattanooga’s newly branded “West End” or “West Village” is the newest addition to the city’s food scene—Alimentari. This Italian eatery offers quick service lunches like paninis, pizza or sandwiches for those looking to grab a bite before heading back into work and at night turns into an modern New York-style dining experience. You can’t go wrong with any of the house-made pasta dishes or the extensive wine list featuring around 60 options. Chik-fil-A East Ridge - Can anybody possibly be upset about the addition of another Chik-fil-A? Doubt it. You’ll be happy to know that as soon as this coming spring, you may be able to get your chicken sandwiches right off Camp Jordan Parkway in the Jordan Crossing development.

New distillery in the Chattanooga Choo Choo - If approved, this distillery known as Ridgecroft Refining will make up to 5,000 gallons a month of high-end yet "reasonably priced" vodka, gin, rum and whiskey from locally-sourced grains inside the Choo Choo just past the dome lobby in what used to be the Gardens Restaurant dining room. The plan is to offer tours and tastings during the day, then shift to more of a cocktail bar atmosphere in the evening.
