Friday, March 1

Magic In The Garden: A Harry Potter Inspired Event

When: 6-9 p.m. 
Where: Signal Mountain Nursery, 1100 Hubbard Road 
Cost: $40-120

Experience the fun and fantasy of the beloved Harry Potter series in the wild and wonderful grounds of the garden. Signal Mountain Nursery is hosting an evening inspired by the beloved literary series through displays, interactive activities, Harry Potter themed animals provided by Reflection Riding, theatrical performance and refreshment. Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon Weekend

When: Specific times available on the website
Where: First Tennessee Pavilion, 1826 Reggie White Blvd.
Cost: Free - $200 

Race weekend includes a marathon, half marathon, team relay, 5K and a free kids fun run! Whether you run or not, come cheer people on, visit some of the event vendors and experience the natural beauty and urban space of Chattanooga. For more information, visit chattanoogamarathon.com. 


Wednesday, March 6

The Chattery Presents: Origami 101

When: 6-7:30 p.m. 
Where: Chattanooga Workspace, 302 W. 6th St. 
Cost: $22

The ancient art form called origami brings many direct benefits such as building hand-eye coordination, strengthening hands and improving anxiety. In this class you will begin to build your paper folding skills with a few fundamental designs such as an iconic origami crane and a little, but powerful, jumping frog. Each participant will take home their own paper creations. Origami paper is included in the cost; however participants are welcome to bring their own origami paper in addition. For more information or to register, visit thechattery.org/classes.


Wednesdays through March 

Try Archery

When: 3:30-6 p.m. 
Where: Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. 
Cost: Free

Take aim at Outdoor Chattanooga's "Try Archery" class. This free indoor class offers a hands-on opportunity to learn more about the sport of archery. Concentrating on range safety rules and fundamentals of archery, the class is taught using the National Archery in Schools NASP equipment and procedures. The session is walk-in and open to ages 6 and up. No reservation or prior experience required. All equipment provided. For more information call Outdoor Chattanooga at 423-643-6888.

Steel Magnolias

When: 7:30-10 p.m. 
Where: The Colonnade Center, 264 Catoosa Circle
Cost: $8-12

The Colonnade Players is bringing back fan favorite "Steel Magnolias" to The Colonnade stage. ”Steel Magnolias,” written by Robert Harling, chronicles the lives of the women who frequent Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana. All the ladies who are anybody come to Truvy's for a wash and a set as well as a good dose of gossip and hilarious repartee. You will laugh and cry and laugh until you cry.
