Beauty and the Beast

Where: Chattanooga Theatre Center,

The Chattanooga Theatre Centre production of this timeless story will take audiences into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature of 1991 and incorporating many of its beloved musical numbers, this "tale as old as time" will feature amazing voices, splendid costumes, and spectacular sets. As a joint production of the Theatre Centre and its youth program, the 50-person cast includes volunteers young and old and will appeal to audiences young and old as well. "Beauty & the Beast" tells the story of Belle, a beautiful and intelligent young woman who feels out of place in her provincial French village. When her father is imprisoned in a mysterious castle, Belle's attempt to rescue him leads to her capture by the Beast, who was long ago trapped in his gruesome form by an enchantress. The only way for the Beast to become human once again is if he learns to love and be loved in return. The delightful characters of the Beast's enchanted household watch anxiously as Belle and the Beast grow to understand and befriend one another. Will they confess their love for one another before it is too late?
