Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga Presents "Next to Normal"

When: January 26-27 from 7:30-10:15 p.m. and January 28 from 2:30-5:15 p.m. 
Where: Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga, Midtown Central, 911 Eastgate Loop
Cost: $15-20

Pulitzer Prize winning musical Next to Normal centers around a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effects that her illness and its management have had on her family. The musical was the recipient of several accolades prior to its Off Broadway debut, including the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Score and Drama Desk Awards nominations for Outstanding Actress (Alice Ripley) and Outstanding Score. Next to Normal has been called one of the best musicals of the 21st century and its soundtrack one of the best original soundtracks in a musical due to its graceful handling of its dark, complex subject matter and its moving and brutally honest exploration into pain. Workshop: Valentine's Card Making Workshop with Lesley Miller

When: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: Art Creations, 7351 Commons Blvd.

Think store bought cards are a little lame? This year you can try making your own! At this workshop, make three Valentine's Day cards and two gift tags using a variety of mediums to share the love with friends and family. Card materials will be provided. Artful Yoga: Heating Up Your Resolutions

When: 1:30-3 p.m.
Where: Hunter Museum of American Art, 10 Bluff View
Cost: Free

Heat up your resolutions with a strong yoga practice led by Anna Mercer of the Sports Barn. After a gallery experience led by Anna and Hunter staff, guests will have a practice that warms up those chilly winter bones. Bring your own mat and be sure to be on time. Although the class is free, a $5 donation for Artful Yoga supports the Hunter's educational programs.

Winter Workshop: Fishing 101

When: 6-7:30 p.m.
Where: Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. 
Cost: Free

Take your knowledge of fishing beyond a worm and cane pole in this beginner's basic class taught by the fishing experts at Bass Pro Shops. This workshop will dive into the different types of lines and lures, how the seasons and weather can change your fishing experience, and the ethics of fishing. No experience necessary, just an interest in learning more about casting a line and a lure into any of the streams, rivers or lakes the surround the Scenic City.
