Saturday, March 12

Contra Dance Presented By Chattanooga Traditional Dance

When: 7:30-11 p.m. 
Where: Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road
Cost: $5-$8

Chattanooga Traditional Dance Society (CTDS) will host its monthly Contra dance, featuring caller Chrissy Davis-Camp with music by The Mountain Creek Boys. Every level from beginner to experienced is invited to join, and no partners are required. All dances are taught in walk-throughs. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and bring an extra pair of clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing. Gardening with a Farmer

Where: Jazzanooga Arts SPACE, 431 E MLK Blvd.
Cost: $15

Are you interested in growing plants, but not sure how to start? Have you gardened a little and want to sharpen your skills? Are you a seasoned grower of many years and still have questions? From My Perspective: An Art Exhibition Featuring Artists With Special Needs

When: 6-8 p.m.
Where: Trousdale School, 3171 Hewitt St. SE Cleveland, TN
Cost: Free

This community art show features artists with special needs and is open to all artists, with or without disabilities, ages 14 and older in Chattanooga and Cleveland, Tenn. Artworks will be available for sale in a silent auction. Artist registration forms available at trousdaleschool.org.


Friday, March 18 - Sunday, March 20

Valley and Ridge Gem and Mineral Show

When: Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  and Sunday From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: The Forum, 301 Tribune St., Rome, GA 30161 
Cost: Free

Dealers from all over the country will be selling their wares in Rome next weekend. With minerals, gems, fossils, meteorites, jewelry and crystals for sale, this is one of the premier events for mineral and fossil collectors or those looking for interesting gifts. The show is sponsored by the Rome Mineral Society, a non-profit educational organization. The event will feature free mineral and fossil ID, door prizes and exhibits!
