ACT Playhouse’s “My Fair Lady”

In this beloved musical, pompous phonetics professor Henry Higgins is so sure of his abilities that he takes it upon himself to transform a Cockney working-class girl into someone who can pass for a cultured member of high society. His subject turns out to be the lovely Eliza Doolittle, who agrees to speech lessons to improve her job prospects. Growing Fruit At Home Seminar

When: 9-10 a.m. 
Where: Ooltewah Nursery & Landscape Co. Inc., 5829 Main Street, Ooltewah, TN 37363
Cost: Free

Whether you have never tried to grow fruit, or if you have without success, this seminar is designed help you grow like a pro. Horticultural expert Jim Yates will give you all the do's and don'ts to follow for success using example plants from the Ooltewah Nursery grounds. Everyone who attends will receive a a full-color booklet and a discount coupon.

Waltz Workshop & Community Contra Dance

When: 4-7:30 p.m.
Where: Bessie Smith Cultural Center, 200 E ML King Blvd.
Cost: $5 - $12

The Folk School of Chattanooga & Chattanooga Contra Dancers will present a Waltz Workshop and Community Contra Dance featuring local talent At 4 p.m. Wendy Carson will teach a Waltz Workshop for those who want to learn waltz basics and smooth partnering moves. At 7:30 p.m. caller Vicky Herndon with music by Christie Burns and Friends will lead the evening Contra Dance. This traditional social dance is open to everyone and no partners are necessary. Wear comfortable clothes and bring an extra pair of clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing.

Zumba/Hip-Hop Class

When: 7:15-8:30 p.m.
Where: Jazzanooga Arts SPACE, 431 E MLK Blvd.
Cost: $5

Get fit while having fun during this Zumba/Hip Hop fusion class taught by Antonio McMath. These classes are a part of Jazzanooga, which started in 2011 as a one-day community festival and has grown become a cultural arts and education nonprofit that offers year-round programming and a month-long celebration that promotes Chattanooga's extraordinary music heritage.


Thursday, March 31

World Series of Comedy Qualifier Finals 

When: 7:30-9:15 p.m.
Where: The Comedy Catch, 1400 Market St
Cost: $10

The Comedy Catch at The Choo Choo will present the finals to the Local World Series of Comedy Satellite Qualifier. This qualifier will have local comedians vying for a spot in the national satellite for the WSOC. You can come out and compete or help judge the local talent. Fifty percent of the vote comes from the audience, and the other 50 percent will come from the judges.
