Rock City's Fairytale Nights

Volunteer for Civil War Trust Park Day 2016

When: 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, LaFayette Road and Battlefield Parkway, Fort Ogelthorpe, GA 30741 
Cost: Free

Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park joins the Civil War Trust in inviting the public to participate in the annual Park Day, a nationwide volunteer effort aimed at preserving Civil War sites across the country. Projects this year at Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park include: battlefield landscape restoration, a trail reroute away from historic earthworks, and trash collection. All volunteers will receive a special Civil War Trust t-shirt, as well as a free lunch. Long pants and sturdy, close-toed shoes are required for all projects. Bringing your own gloves is recommended, but gloves and other personal protective equipment will be supplied by the park. Please be sure to wear weather appropriate clothing—the project will continue rain or shine. Coker Tire Spring Cruise-In

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Coker Tire Museum, 1317 Chestnut Street
Cost: Free

Come see all of the cool things inside the 100-year-old Coker Tire Museum headquarters at their Spring Cruise-In. There is no entry fee, no judging and no pressure — just enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with some of the best cars, trucks and motorcycles in the Southeast. Drive to Chattanooga, park your car and have a good time!

FIT Community –– Free 21-Day Wellness Program

When: 6-7 p.m.
Where: St. Luke United Methodist Church, 3210 Social Circle
Price: Free 

Looking to have a more healthy lifestyle, lose weight and get plugged into a community group? This complete 21-day wellness program kicks off with a meeting to help participants learn how they can lose a few pounds and get healthier in 21 days by simply practicing The Power of Smalls –– making a few small changes that add up to something big. Participants will receive a comprehensive worksheet that will help effectively plan out their small changes, free weekly in-person group workouts for all levels (even those who will only be walking), and accountability and support on the private Facebook group page.
