Nightfall Concert Series

When: 7-11 p.m.
Where: Miller Plaza, 850 Market Street
Cost: Free

One of Chattanooga's most widely recognized and attended programs is the seasonal Nightfall concert series, which celebrates its 29th season this year. Uniquely Chattanooga, Nightfall brings people to the city's center each Friday night all summer to enjoy a variety of nationally and internationally acclaimed musical artists ranging in a variety of genres. Dalton Little Theatre’s ‘Crimes of the Heart’

When: Friday, May 5 and Sat, May 6 from from 7-9 p.m.; Sun, May 7 from 2-4 p.m.

Dalton Little Theatre's next main stage production is the dramedy "Crimes of the Heart," by Beth Henley. Produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc. Director Ronald King invites everyone into the Magrath kitchen to experience a show about Babe, Lenny and Meg, three sisters struggling to escape their pasts and seize their futures.  "Crimes of the Heart" was written by Beth Henley in 1978. The play won the 1981 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play. It was adapted for the big screen as a feature film in 1986 starring Sissy Spacek, Jessica Lange and Diane Keaton. Artful Yoga

When: 1:30-3 p.m.
Where: Hunter Museum of American Art, 10 Bluff View
Cost: $5 

This edition of Artful Yoga will be bilingual led by Jessica Ashah and Jessica Jollie of Yoga Landing. Guests will explore a work of art in the current exhibit, Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art, and then use that art as inspiration for a yoga practice presented in Spanish and English. Participants are required to bring a mat. A $5 donation for this community artful yoga supports the Hunter Museum's educational programs.


Sunday, May 7

Play Along with the CSO 

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Chattanooga Market, 1829 Carter Street
Cost: $35

Dreaming of trying out your musical talents alongside members of a 60+ professional orchestra? This could be your chance! Community musicians are invited to perform with the musicians of the CSO for select pieces during a live, free concert on this special day. Participants must be 18 or older. There is a $35 entrant fee which includes a Play Along performance, CSO T-shirt and PDFs of the music. This musical day includes a "petting zoo" from the CSO offering a chance to see the instruments up close and personal and a performance by the CSO youth orchestra as well. Mountain to Town Bicycle Adventure 

When: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. 
Cost: $25, includes bike, helmet, water bottle, transportation, guide staff and ride support. Reservations are required.

Mountain to Town is a guided downhill mountain bike adventure that highlights the scenic trails atop Lookout Mountain and how they connect to the Tennessee Riverwalk all the way to downtown Chattanooga. Join Outdoor Chattanooga for this all-inclusive beginner friendly adventure which begins with equipment, a shuttle ride to the top of Lookout Mountain and experienced guide staff providing ride support and instruction. Use one of Outdoor Chattanooga’s mountain bikes or your own. Participants will descend nearly 1,500 ft and only climb 340' over the 13-mile ride for approximately 2 hours of riding. This family-friendly adventure is appropriate for ages 12 and up! Riders must be able to independently ride, shift, maneuver and operate a bike with hand brakes, listen and follow instructions and be able to make decisions quickly while moving at higher speeds in order to participate in this adventure.
