The Telling Project: Chattanooga

When: Specific times available on the website
Where: Chattanooga State Humanities Theater, 4501 Amnicola Highway
Cost: Free

More than 40 original productions of The Telling Project have been presented nationwide. Each production tells the unique stories of local veterans and their families, told by the veterans themselves. Chattanooga State is proud to host the Chattanooga Telling Project with six veterans and family members from the Chattanooga area. Their stories are humorous, heartfelt, moving and profound. Saturday and Sunday, September 24-25

Hamilton County Fair

When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Chester Frost Park, 2277 N. Goldpoint Circle
Cost: $6 for adults, $4 ages 3-12 and tots 2 and under are free. 

The County Fair offers something for everyone including live music, crafts, community showcase performances, ag and livestock demonstrations and exhibitions, and of course, carnival food! The fair is a park and ride event with bus transportation provided from Northgate Mall and Middle Valley Recreation Center. Strollers and wheelchairs are easily transported beneath the buses. Komatsu America Corp. Chattanooga Manufacturing Operation 30th Anniversary Open House

When: 1-3 p.m.
Where: Komatsu America Corp., 409 Signal Mountain Road 
Cost: Free

Komatsu America Corp. Chattanooga Manufacturing Operation is celebrating its 30th year of operations here in the Chattanooga community. The company is opening its doors to the public and are offering free tours of its facilities to the Chattanooga and surrounding areas. Reservations are required. Tuesday, September 27

The Chattery Presents "Facing Your Finances: Understanding Insurance”

When: 6-7:30 p.m.
Where: Edney Innovation Center, 1100 Market St. 
Cost: $15-25

3 Sisters BlueGrass Festival

When: 6-10 p.m.
Where: Tennessee Aquarium, 1 Broad St. 
Cost: Free

The 3 Sisters Festival has been a Chattanooga favorite since 2007 and features a full schedule of some of the biggest names in bluegrass including Yonder Mountain String Band, Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent, Dan Tyminski and Del McCoury. Combining both traditional and contemporary bluegrass, this festival appeals to a wide age range. This two-day event will include Dismembered Tennesseans featuring founder Fletcher Bright, and lots more top names in bluegrass. Food and beverages are for sale; no coolers are allowed at the festival. Bring your lawn chair, come early and stay late for the best in bluegrass.
