3 Sisters BlueGrass Festival

The 3 Sisters Festival has been a Chattanooga favorite since 2007 and features a full schedule of some of the biggest names in bluegrass including Yonder Mountain String Band, Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent, Dan Tyminski and Del McCoury. Combining both traditional and contemporary bluegrass, this festival appeals to a wide age range. This two-day event will include Dismembered Tennesseans featuring founder Fletcher Bright, and lots more top names in bluegrass. Food and beverages are for sale; no coolers are allowed at the festival. Bring your lawn chair, come early and stay late for the best in bluegrass. The Telling Project: Chattanooga

More than 40 original productions of The Telling Project have been presented nationwide. Each production tells the unique stories of local veterans and their families, told by the veterans themselves. Chattanooga State is proud to host the Chattanooga Telling Project with six veterans and family members from the Chattanooga area. Their stories are humorous, heartfelt, moving and profound. Chattanooga Market CultureFest
When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Chattanooga Market, 1829 Carter Street

Experience the rich cultural diversity of Chattanooga through arts, food, dance, and live music. This weekend, the Chattanooga Market will boast live performances from local cultural groups including a must see Parade of Nations. Enjoy a multicultural fashion show, dance contest and an exhibition of culturally-themed art. Local ethnic organizations will be on hand displaying cultural artwork, offering food samples and cooking demos along with other global customs. The event will include activities for all ages such as origami, yoga, dance instruction, henna hand painting, face painting, chopstick lessons, tea tasting, passport game, calligraphy, bocce and international board games.

Ready to Rock Climb: River Rocks Edition
When: 5-7:30 p.m.
Where: Coolidge Park, 200 River Street

Ready to Rock Climb is an introduction to the sport of rock climbing offered by Outdoor Chattanooga at the Walnut Wall in Coolidge Park. The City of Chattanooga's Walnut Wall overlooks the Tennessee River from a 50' high limestone pier of the historic Walnut Street Bridge in Coolidge Park. Ready to Rock Climb gives participants the opportunity to try vertical, top roped rock climbing with route difficulty varying from beginner to advanced. No experience is necessary and equipment is provided. Gym shoes and longer shorts or athletic pants are most appropriate. Guests ages 5 and up are welcome. Check out October Craft week with works from sixteen members representing east, southeast and northeast Tennessee. These include a wide range of media such as contemporary fiber art, quilts, carved and thrown clay vessels, clay-sculptured wall pieces, jewelry, hand-printed marbled fabric, mixed-media textiles, beaded necklaces, glass-bead sculpture, wood-turned vessels and Bean & Bailey ceramic tumblers.
