Sometimes we do it for the ‘gram. And luckily Chattanooga is a seriously photogenic place (it didn’t get nicknamed the “Scenic City” for nothing) with some great Instagram-worthy restaurants, retailers and locations to check out! We’ve gathered up just some of our favorites to add to your list. Did we miss your favorite? Let us know!

Sunset Rock

If you haven't made it to Sunset Rock before, boy you are missing out on a great hike and an every better photo opp. Start your trek by parking at Cravens House overlooking Chattanooga atop beautiful Lookout Mountain. From there you’ll take the Bluff Trail for a 3.4 mile steep, but short short out and back hike that is completely worth the effort for the view! You can bring dogs, on a leash, and also pack a picnic for when you reach Sunset Rock. Just be sure to pick up after yourself for the next person to enjoy it. After you’re finished, get to snapping! If you haven’t gotten enough incredible photos, just a short drive away is Point Park where you can learn more about Chattanooga’s Battle Above the Clouds and check out some amazing views. \

The Polka Dot Wall

Do you even Instagram if you haven’t taken a photo in front of Chattanooga’s polka dot wall? Stop by here on your way to the next photo spot on our list, as this wall is located across the street from the Chattanooga Choo Choo a block off Market St. and W Main St. just a hop skip and a jump away from Wildflower Tea Shop & Apothecary.

Wildflower Tea Shop & Apothecary

This Instagrammable spot is located across from the Chattanooga Choo Choo and features clean lines, brick and wood detailing, and a really adorable couch for a great photo opp. Wildflower Tea Shop & Apothecary is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., so pay them a visit and grab yourself a cup of matcha tea while you’re at it!

Matilda Midnight/The Dwell Hotel

I’d be genuinely surprised if you haven’t seen this one come up on your Instagram feed already. Matilda Midnight, located inside The Dwell Hotel, is a gorgeous bar with photo-worthy small plates and craft cocktails. Open daily from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m., this downtown Chattanooga gem is way worth the visit to sip, savor and also snap a photo with some of The Dwell Hotel’s amazing 70s-looking decor.

Flying Donut Mural

This is a must do if you’re visiting Chattanooga for the first time or have lived here forever and never made it by. Located at W 20th St and Broad St. next to an Enterprise, this wall is a feature of local favorite Koch’s Bakery. Bonus points if you buy a donut to take a photo with in front of a mural donut!

Walnut Street Bridge

More wedding, graduation, senior portraits and engagement photos have been taken here than you can shake a stick at—and for good reason! The Walnut Street Bridge is unique to Chattanooga, and is an amazing backdrop for photos. The blue metal of the bridge pops against the skyline, making for some great photos. Besides, you have more than 2,000 feet of pedestrian bridge to work with! That means plenty of room for everyone and their photos.
