The Southside neighborhood just got a little bit more awesome with the addition of The FEED Co. Table and Tavern. It’s no small wonder that this Southern-inspired farm-to-table fare is getting rave reviews, as the owners are Chattanooga favorites for their other projects. Dustin Choate, owner of beer and burger haven Tremont Tavern; Miguel Morales, owner of the 1885 Grill in St. Elmo; and Charlie Loomis, former head chef at Green Life Grocery (now Whole Foods) and now-closed Northshore restaurant Elemental; all came together to develop The FEED Co. The restaurant is divided with one half (only open until 10 p.m.) catering to those who want a more formal dining experience, and the other half creating more night life with a tavern that will stay open late. There was a sad, empty hole in our hearts after the beloved Cherokee Boulevard wine and cheese bar Brix Nouveau closed its doors for good. Five Bar, a chain restaurant serving up new American cuisine in college towns from Birmingham, Alabama to Athens, Georgia, has finally made its way to Chattanooga this month. The concept for the eatery is that there are only five options for everything—five appetizers, five entrées, five cocktails, etc. With only a limited number of options, the menu stays small enough to ensure that you can try every dish including the special entrées of the day offered only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
