Where To See Fourth of July Fireworks In The Chattanooga Area

Happy (almost) Fourth everyone! It’s time to celebrate our nation’s freedom with some good old fashion fun and fireworks. But where are the best July 4th celebrations in Chattanooga? We’ve got you covered with all of them you need to know about. 

Wednesday, July 3

City of Collegedale’s July 3 Freedom Celebration

When: 6-10:30 p.m.
Where: Collegedale City Hall, 4910 Swinyar Drive. 
Cost: Free

The Commons Stage at Founders Hall, the newest of the three venues at Collegedale's annual July 3 Freedom Celebration, will light up at 6 p.m. with Lou Wamp and Von Wamp's All Star Lineup. ETSO, featuring Pops Conductor Joel Denton, will perform on The Commons Stage beginning at 8 p.m. Matt Downer – Old Time Traveler, will open at Veterans Memorial Park stage at 6 p.m. The third venue, Imagination Station Kid's Stage, will host interactive stories, songs, and organized movement with Jennifer Daniels at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Imagination Station is the site for a kid's bounce house sponsored by TKDo Martial Arts, who will be providing demonstrations beginning at 7 p.m. and going throughout the evening. Librarians and volunteers of the Collegedale Public Library will be on hand at Imagination Station Pavilion teaching the craft of paper marbling beginning at 6 p.m. There will also be free play at Collegedale's award-winning playground. This free, family-friendly event with three venues of music, numerous food trucks, the Collegedale Market, and a host of vendors along Apison Pike, will conclude with one of the area's largest fireworks displays lighting up the sky at 9:45 p.m. For more information, contact Collegedale City Hall at 423-396-3135.


Wednesday, July 3

Pops on the River 

When: 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. 
Where: Coolidge Park,
Cost: Free

Festivities at Pops on the River start at 5 p.m. with a special tribute to veterans. At 8 p.m. the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera will begin their patriotic program. Fireworks start at 9:45 p.m. We recommend getting there early with your lawn chair or blanket to grab a spot! 


Wednesday, July 3

Chattanooga Theatre Centre Presents Star-Spangled Supper

When: 6-11 p.m.
Where: Chattanooga Theatre Centre, 400 River Street 
Cost: $50 for adults, $10 for 12 and under, and free for kids 3 and under.

The Chattanooga Theatre Centre is throwing a patriotic party as the annual Star-Spangled Supper returns on Wednesday, July 3. The dinner is held in conjunction with the Pops on the River performance by the Chattanooga Symphony. Hosted by the Purple Lady Sonia Young, this fundraising event features barbecue by Sugar's Ribs, ice cream from Clumpies, and wine and beer for sale. There will be live music, and guests can enjoy the symphony concert and the fireworks afterwards from the theatre's riverfront terrace and lawn. Admission includes free parking. Parking passes must be picked up at the CTC box office by Friday, June 28. Tickets are available by calling 423-267-8534 or by visiting TheatreCentre.com. This event usually sells out so getting tickets early is recommended.


Thursday, July 4

Red, White & Blue Day

When: Noon to 4 p.m. 
Where: Creative Discovery Museum, 321 Chestnut St.
Cost: Free to $14.95

Come celebrate America's birthday at Creative Discovery Museum's annual Red, White and Blue Day! Guests will participate in several patriotic-themed crafts and activities that teach children about the reason the 4th of July is celebrated every year. At 2 p.m., guests will gather in the Atrium for a dance party followed by child-friendly "bubblewrap" fireworks and a colorful confetti drop. Immediately following those activities, a 21-Diet Coke geyser salute will honor the military men and women who have served our country along with "Happy Birthday America" cake and ice cream outside on the Museum Plaza (weather permitting).  As a thank you to those who protect and serve America, active duty military members and veterans will receive free admission to the Museum on July 4 for their families with presentation of a military ID (good for up to four guests). All activities are included with admission to the Museum. Post Lookouts Game Fireworks

When: 6:15 p.m.

Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park 

When: Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
Where: 1730 Lakeview Dr., Rossville, GA 30741
Cost:  $34.95; Children, ages 1 to 2, and adults, 60 and older, must purchase tickets at the gate for a discounted rate
