As we start the new year, you may be considering freshening up your home. Whether you are looking to update your home in order to sell or you’re just looking to spruce up your surroundings, one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to do so is with paint. Painting a room or accent wall can change your entire space!
Every year, companies come out with what is called “Color of the Year,” which is a color trend predicted for the year. This can impact anything from consumer products like clothes to your home decor. Depending on the space you are looking to change, the Color of the Year can be applied to all of your walls, an accent wall, or even be the perfect colored accents placed around your room to complement the current decor. While The Pantone Color Institute originally created the Pantone Color of the Year, other brands have started to create their own color.

Behr's Blank Canvas is a great neutral color for the entire house! Whether you are looking to paint the interior or exterior, this color is a great universal color that will last for years to come. Neutral colors are a great option if you are looking to sell your home as it shows crisp, clean colors that can help buyers picture they're own furniture and decor without distractions.
Pantone's Viva Magenta is bold and fun! It can definitely brighten up any space by adding eye catching colors. If you love the color, but aren't quite ready for a full room transformation, Viva Magenta is a great accent color. By adding pillows, throws, artwork, or a fun colored vase, you can incorporate this fun color into your every day space. A bold color like this one is great for kid's room or a fun office or outdoor space.
Valspar took their Color of the Year to the next level and gave us an entire color palette! Each color offers a muted tone which is a great way to add color to your walls. Muted tones bring fun color to a room while also being easy on the eyes. These colors are great for any room in the house!
Krylon's Spanish Moss will definitely be a fun accent color for any room. Green has been becoming more and more popular over the years and this shade is sure to follow that trend. Spanish Moss is a great accent to neutral rooms and would look great in any room. Bedrooms, kitchens, dining, patio fur, office space, you name it!
Warm pinks are definitely trending for 2023 and Benjamin Moore's Raspberry Blush is no exception! This electric color is a great pop of color to add if you are looking to jazz things up a bit. If you are looking for bold, bright, and fun, Raspberry Blush is definitely the way to go!
If you are looking for fun color, but a little less bold, Dunn-Edwards Terra Rose is a great option! It offers a great color, but toned down. While still eye catching, Terra Rose would make a great accent color for your walls and furniture. It could even make a fun front door color.
Sherwin-Williams' color of the year is called Redend Point. The neutral brown brings warmth and intrigue to any space and pairs well with lighter neutral tones. This calming color can change the tone for an entire room and is great for a refresh!
Better Home & Garden's Canyon Ridge is probably one of the most versatile of all of the brighter colors! This warm, blushy coral is a beautiful color that can be paired with countless styles. It could be a lovely nursery color or a relaxing, golden hour themed bedroom. It can also pair well with another bold color like a stunning cobalt blue! If you are looking for a color to match well with others that isn't basic or neutral, Canyon Ridge is what you are looking for.
Glidden's color of the year is all fresh and fun! Like the Terra Rose, Vining Ivy is a lovely muted tone that blends well the space! It's a beautiful color, but won't take over the entire room with brightness. Vining Ivy would be a great color to add fun to a kid's room, but also a sophistication to your home office space!
Continuing with the warm, bold theme, Graham & Brown is bringing a little more mood to 2023. Alizarin is a deep, dusty red that can really set the tone for a room. Pairing well with other warm tones, it is a great way to make a statement in any room!
