Some days you just need a cocktail—and the Scenic City isn’t going to let you down! One of the best parts of the Chattanooga food and drink scene is the opportunity to branch out and experience something new for Happy Hour. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorites for you to try.

St John’s Meeting Place

1274 Market St, Chattanooga, TN 37402

At the top of the list for happy hour locales is St John’s Meeting Place, located right next to St. John’s Restaurant on Market Street. Oftentimes this eatery gets overlooked based on the perception that it’s expensive, but hold the phone, y’all—they have one of the best and most affordable happy hours in Chattanooga.  With $5 cocktails, select small plates and discounts on domestic and craft beers, this “very happy hour” is not to be missed. The ambiance is perfect for a date night out, especially if you snag a more private table on the second floor. The stand-out thing besides the general ambiance are the delicious small plates, which are a great way to sample menu items affordably. We recommend the pork belly sliders and the mac and cheese. Yum!

Another perfect date night location, STIR has a great industrial-chic atmosphere right in the heart of Chattanooga inside the Chattanooga Choo Choo. A big draw for STIR is the restaurant’s artisanal ice—yes, ice—that is hand cut in ways to complement individual cocktails. Sometimes you can watch them create a perfect sphere out of a block of ice, which helps make the cocktail prices seem reasonable for all of that hard work. Go and enjoy the experience at a discount for their Happy Hour Monday-Friday from 4-6:30 p.m. which features a select feature cocktail of the week for $7, $12 off wine by the glass, $5 well drinks and $4 draft beers. If you are looking for a snack, try the $1.50 fish tacos or sliders, or the guest favorite, $1 oysters.
