Fourth of July Local Events

The holidays are a big deal around Chattanooga, and July 4th is no exception. We've put together a list of area events happening on or around the fourth that are filled with food, fireworks, music, and lots more!

Wednesday, July 3

  • Pops in the Park
Starting at 3:00 PM in Coolidge Park, food trucks and vendors will be open to kick-off your afternoon picnic. Local party band Love, Peace, and Happiness will entertain at 4:30 PM, with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera (CSO) performing patriotic favorites at 7:30 PM. The event concludes with fireworks over the river at 9:30 PM.

  • Freedom Festival & Fireworks
The City of Collegedale will be hosting an event at The Commons with food vendors and ample free fun for the kiddos beginning at 4:00 PM. Live music will kickoff at 5:30 PM with mega fireworks lighting up the sky at 9:30 PM. Admission is FREE, but you'll want to plan on paying for parking.

Thursday, July 4

  • Creative Discovery Museum's Red, White, & Blue Day
Fireworks can be an intimidating for some and past the bedtime of others, so if a quieter, daytime activity is what your family is looking for, here's a great option! From 12:00-4:00 PM, the CDM will have fun holiday-themed activities and crafts.

  • 1945 Dade County Fair
This annual event at Jenkins Park in Trenton GA will kickoff at 12:00 PM with tons of events throughout the day, including kids activities, a talent show, watermelon and hot dog eating contests, and tons more. Fireworks will begin at dusk.

Grab your blankets and lawn chairs for family fun at the John A. Patten Center in downtown Lookout Valley. At 7:00 PM, free pizza, chips, drinks, and watermelon will be available with music and a fireworks show at 9:00 PM.

  • City of Dunlap 4th of July Celebration
If you're looking for small town, local fun, this is the place to be. Featuring parades (10:30 AM kiddie parade followed by normal parade at 11:00 AM), games, bounce houses, a ferris wheel, and fireworks at dusk.

Saturday, July 6
