We can't wait for the crisp air and vibrant colors of fall to show up in our area, especially with the festive events and activities that are happening soon. It's time to don your sweaters and get ready for some fun! We've rounded up some of the top fall-themed events in and around Chattanooga for 2024 so you don't have to.
As we creep up on Halloween, Ruby Falls will be hosting a special edition of their after-hour Lantern Tours. As published on their website, come hear "ghost stories from the history of Ruby Falls and Chattanooga legends. Hear the cryptic tales by the light of hand-held lanterns on the walk to the waterfall and visit the sites of peculiar encounters, mischievous mayhem, and tragedy".
The Chattanooga Market is always a fan-favorite, and their fall calendar is no exception. There will be an Apple Festival in September, as well as the Oktoberfest and Haunted Market in October. With craft artisans, produce, pumpkin painting, live music, and tons more, it's sure to help usher anyone into the spirit of fall. Plus, you'll be supporting local vendors!
Ross' Landing will be hosting the 16th annual 3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival in October, which is a FREE event featuring more than 10 different traditional and non-traditional bluegrass music acts. Food and drink vendors will also be available throughout the area, so all you'll need is a blanket or lawn chair.
If you've never experienced a train ride with the TN Valley Railroad, this is your chance! In September and October, they'll be hosting multiple Spells & Potions Special-Teas for all ages. Tickets include delicious tea, sweet and savory treats, a train ride, and access to the Wizards Way Village. Make sure to purchase your tickets in advance to take advantage of this magical adventure!
Take in a traditional fair experience at the Little Debbie Hamilton County Fair in November. The list of activities goes on and on, but a live rodeo, amusement rides, live music, fairground food classics, and fireworks are among the favorites! McDonald Farm in Sale Creek will host the event, and tickets can be purchased in advance or at the gate.
For older teens and adults seeking thrills, Dread Hollow Haunted House may be just your style. Tickets are only available via the website and are timed entry. Those behind the attraction promise a terrifying experience, with "over 25,000+ square feet of haunted sets, escape rooms, and unsettling illusions".
Last but definitely not least, if you prefer less horror and a more low-key adventure, there are several pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and apple orchards in the area:
Mayfield Farm Park
Guthrie Pumpkin Farm
Apple Valley Orchards
Flat Top Farm
Smith-Perry Berries
Grandaddy's Farm
Wheeler's Orchard
Ocoee Valley Farms
Copper Creek Farms
Fairmount Orchard
What are you waiting for?! Get out there and create some memories this fall!
