If there's anyone excited about the holiday season, it's The Torgerson Team! Living in Chattanooga has its perks, including tons of holiday events to take in through November and December. We've got a few favorites to brighten your holiday planning.
Rock City's "Enchanted Garden of Lights"
- Where: Lookout Mtn, GA
- When: Nov 22 - Jan 4 (nightly, closed Christmas Eve)
- Cost: $31-35 (tickets ONLY available online ahead of time)
A Chattanooga classic, Rock City's EGL is a magical experience for all ages. Wander through thousands of sparkling lights with themed sections like the "Arctic Kingdom" and "Magic Forest". Enjoy warm cocoa, live entertainment, and treats for the kids. Santa will be visiting until December 23!
Chattanooga Holiday Market
- Where: Chattanooga Convention Center
- When: Saturdays and Sundays, Dec 7 - 22
- Cost: Free entry
A holiday tradition downtown, the Holiday Market features unique, local gifts, from handcrafted items to artisanal foods. Kids will love live performances and a visit from Santa, while adults can indulge in seasonal sips and bites from local vendors. A perfect way to shop local and support the community during the holidays.
North Pole Limited Train Rides
- Where: TN Valley Railroad Museum
- When: Nov 17 - Dec 23
- Cost: $40-$65/person
Ideal for families, the North Pole Limited Train Ridge takes passengers on a magical journey to the "North Pole," complete with festive music, storytelling, and holiday treats. Santa visits each train car, making this memorable experience for young children and the young at heart.
Reindeer on the Riverfront & Lighted Boat Parade
- Where: Ross's Landing & Downtown Chattanooga
- When: Nov 29
- Cost: Free
A community favorite, Reindeer on the Riverfront brings holiday cheer to downtown with live reindeer, mini-train rides, a hot cocoa bar, and even pictures with Santa. Follow up the street parade with the Lighted Boat Parade at Ross's Landing, where decorated boats illuminate the Tennessee River. This family-friendly event is completely free, and local food vendors will be on hand to offer festive snacks. Don't miss out on the fireworks afterward!
Chattanooga Santa Bar Crawl
- Where: Various local bars/pubs in Chattanooga
- When: Dec 14
- Cost: $5 - $26+ (depending on discounts & check-in)
Designed for adults 21+, this event lets you explore local favorite bars, while enjoying seasonal drinks. This event is perfect for grabbing a bite with friends and soaking in the holiday spirit. Dressing festive is encouraged!
Ice on the Landing
- Where: Chattanooga Choo Choo Gardens
- When: Nov 24 - Feb 2
- Cost: $12/adult, $10/child (skate rental included)
Ice skating returns to the Choo Choo, transforming the garden area into a winter wonderland. Families and friends can slide across the ice under twinkling lights while enjoying festive music. Perfect for a family outing or a holiday date, this event draws both visitors and locals alike. Venture inside the Choo Choo to see one of the city's tallest trees.
