Spring Night Hike

When: 8:30-10 p.m.
Where: Greenway Farm, 5051 Gann Store Road, Hixson, TN 37343

Enjoy a serene walk by the light of the moon on beginner friendly trails at the Greenway Farm. The naturalist guide on staff can help you identify the sounds of the forest so you can really experience what is going on around you. This leisurely paced walk is perfect for all ages and experience levels. Bring a flashlight and a good sense of adventure.


April 29-30

Chattanooga Market Opening Weekend: Moonpie Celebrates 100 Years

When: April 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; April 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Chattanooga Market, 1829 Carter Street 
Cost: Free

The Chattanooga Market will open for a ceremonious full weekend start to kick off the season. Fresh cut flowers, herbs, artisan foods and spring plantings will be available, as well as food trucks and live music. The event will include a special tribute to locally born, nationally loved MoonPie which is celebrating 100 years with an enormous birthday party. Visitors will enjoy games, samples and more from the MoonPie booth.


April 29-30

21st Annual National Cornbread Festival

When: April 29 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; April 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
Where: South Pittsburg, TN 37380 
Cost: $7, free for preschool children

With so much to experience, it's no wonder The National Cornbread Festival was recently selected as one of the "Top 100 Events" in North America by the American Business Association as well as Taste of the South Magazine's "List of 9 Things You Must Do." The event includes National Lodge® Cast Iron Cornbread Cook-off, Cornbread Alley (sample various cornbread recipes), live music throughout the festival, arts and crafts from area vendors, tours of the Lodge Cast Iron Foundry, Cornbread 5K Race, tours of historic South Pittsburg, classic car cruise-in and cornbread eating contests. Bunny Hop! 2017

When: 6-8:30 p.m.
Where: First Tennessee Pavilion, 1826 Reggie White Blvd 
Cost: $35 for adults; $15 for children; free for ages 2 and under

The 17th annual Bunny Hop! event to benefit Chambliss Center for Children is a family-friendly fundraiser where parents can enjoy an evening with friends and festivities while their kids take advantage of the numerous activities for children. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend, including grandparents and adults without children. Activities will include a wide range of arts and crafts, a bunny petting station, a balloon artist, a "sports zone" set with small basketball nets and lots of balls, as well as corn hole, glitter tattoos and more. For the older children, the event will have the Rolling Video Games truck, inflatables, Chattanooga Aerials and a photo booth station. All children in attendance will receive a Peter Rabbit coloring book to take home. Adults can enjoy live music, a silent auction, and a buffet dinner catered by Events with Taste.
