Saturday, July 9

Movies in the Park

When: 9-11 p.m.
Where: Coolidge Park, 200 River Street
Cost: Free

Pack up your chairs, blankets and picnic baskets and get ready to watch a movie under the stars. Movies in the Park returns to Coolidge Park each Saturday in the month of July beginning July 9 and will feature a family-friendly box office hit. The movie starts just after sundown, and concessions will be available for purchase. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.


Each Thursday-Sunday

Horse and Carriage Rides

When: Every Thursday-Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
Where: Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center, 400 Garden Road
Cost: $15

Take an old fashioned carriage ride around Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center's meandering trails and explore the landscape the way the English traditionally experienced a Riding. Reservations can be made by calling 423-821-1160.


Sunday, July 10

Chattanooga Market Ice Cream Social

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Chattanooga Market, 1829 Carter Street 
Cost: Free-$5

Enjoy the fun of the Chattanooga Market, but with some of the city’s best ice cream benefitting the Chambliss Center For Children. For a $5 ticket, guests will get generous samples from each local creamery. All of the monies from ticket sales will be donated to the Chambliss Center For Children to help them in their mission to “preserve family unity and to help prevent the dependency, neglect, abuse and delinquency of children by responding to the community's childcare needs."


Tuesday, July 12

Songwriter's Night at Heritage House

When: 7-9 p.m.
Where: Heritage House, 1428 Jenkins Road
Cost: Free

Enjoy music from some of Chattanooga’s finest singer-songwriters in the cozy confines of the Heritage House Parlor. Performers will include Mike Crowder, Noah Collins, Ben Strawn and Anthony Quails (host). Light refreshments will be served.


Thursday, July 14

Free Family Night Presented by TVA

When: 5:30-8 p.m. 
Where: Creative Discovery Museum, 321 Chestnut Street 
Cost: Free

Gather up the family and visit free family night at the Creative Discovery Museum, one of the top children's museums in the country. Admission is free for both children and adults.
