Free Shakespeare Summer Series "The Tempest”


When: 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Where: Camp Jordan, 323 Camp Jordan Parkway, East Ridge, TN 37412
Cost: Free

For its third summer, Back Alley Productions will bring a free performance of a Shakespearean classic to Chattanooga. This year’s show, “The Tempest” features Prospero, an ousted duke of former political power, who seeks revenge against the conspirators who overthrew him. But his vendetta is complicated by the mercy of his daughter Miranda who has fallen in love with one of the shipwrecked nobles. The show runs 2.5 hours including intermission. Rock City Gardens’ Summer Music Weekends

Enjoy some old time, bluegrass and country music at the beautiful Rock City Gardens on Lookout Mountain during Summer Music Weekends. 7th Annual SHE Expo

This two-day female focused event features more than 150 vendor booths with everything from free health screenings to food samples to the latest fashions. Global Instagram Meet hosted by Like a Local


When: 6-9 p.m.
Where: Renaissance Park, 200 River Street, Chattanooga, TN 37405
Cost: Free

Chattanooga is participating in Global Instameet Day on July 26 with its own meet-up for those interested in photography or just meeting and networking with locals in the Chattanooga area. This instameet, a photo walk organized through Instagram, is hosted by local Instagram favorite Like a Local. After the event, attendees can post their photos under a common hashtag and connect with each other through their Instagram accounts. The event will feature prizes, networking and an after-party. Monday Night Vintage Swing Dance


When: 7 p.m. intermediate lesson (one beginner lesson required); 7:45 p.m. beginner lesson; dancing from 8:30-10 p.m.

Ready to dance the night away? Whether you’re new to swing dancing or an old pro, come out on Monday nights to enjoy dancing and good company.
