Friday and Saturday, July 29-30

"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"

When: 8-10:30 p.m. 
Where: Signal Mountain Playhouse, Corner of Rolling Way & James Blvd., Signal Mountain, TN 
Cost: $5-15

Signal Mountain Playhouse presents "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" featuring a cast of veteran actors who have graced many stages in the region. Shows are in the Signal Mountain Playhouse Amphitheater at 8 p.m. Door opens at 6 p.m. for ticket sales and lawn chair placement. Tickets are $5 for children ages 12 and younger, $15 for everyone ages 13 and older. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit smph.org.

Semi-Annual Book Sale by Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library

When: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. 
Where: Eastgate Town Center, 5600 Brainerd Road
Cost: Free

If you love reading (or just want to support your local library!), check out the Chattanooga Public Library’s Semi-Annual Book Sale. Books are half-price on Saturday, August 13 and $5 for a bag full on Sunday, August 14. All proceeds go to support the childrens’ programs at the library. August 4-6

19th Annual St. Jude Rodeo

When: Gates open at 6 pm. and rodeo starts at 7 p.m.
Where: Doug Yates Farms, Ringgold, Ga. 
Cost: Free to $12

The St. Jude Rodeo is back for the 19th year! This family-friendly event features yummy food like fried oreos and funnel cakes, family fun including camel rides, bounce houses, pony rides and more, as well as a rodeo. Tickets are free for those 5 and under, $6 for ages 6-12 and $12 for adults 13 and older. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit rodeosusa.com.


August 4-7

HWY 27 Yard Sale

When: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Along Highway 27 from Georgia to Kentucky
Cost: Free

The Hwy 27 Yard Sale is an annual event held the first weekend in August. Residents along U.S. Hwy 27 set up in their yards, and ocal business parking lots and pastures turn into vendor sites. The event started in Noble, Georgia and now spans across Georgia to Kentucky and possible farther.


Friday, August 5

Shark Fest!

When: 6-8:30 p.m.
Where: Tennessee Aquarium, 1 Broad Street 
Cost: Free - $14.50

If you like Shark Week, you’ll love Tennessee Aquarium’s Sharkfest. Enter a diver’s shark cage, get a shark tattoo and a shark hairdo. Enjoy Dr. Bernie's Travelin' Shark Show with bizarre museum specimens and check out the displays of prehistoric shark teeth. The event will also include shark facts during dive shows, a special feeding. and a special treat from Cold Stone Creamery at the end of the adventure.
