Movies in the Park at Dark

When: 7:30-10 p.m.
Where: Heritage Park, 1428 Jenkins Road
Cost: Free

Bridge Christian Church will host its fifth annual family movie series, Movies in the Park at Dark, beginning with "Inside Out," on Friday, Aug.12. The family-friendly movies will be shown on a large inflatable screen at Heritage Park and will begin at dark. The events are free, open to the public and popcorn and drinks will be available for $1 each. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the shows. Movies will be cancelled for inclement weather. 

Saturday, August 13

Slide the City

When: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. 
Where: 5th St and Broad St, Chattanooga, Tennessee
Cost: $20-60

Make your way down a record-breaking water slide—right in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. Slide the City is a family friendly slip-and-slide water party event. There will be live music, food, drinks and of course the biggest slip and slide ever to hit asphalt. Be sure to wear a swimsuit and sunscreen. Art Alive: Exploring Race and Violence Today

When: 6-7 p.m. 
Where: Hunter Museum of American Art, 10 Bluff View
Cost: Free

Join museum curators and choreographer/dancer Ann Law, along with Black Lives Matter activist Ash-Lee Henderson, to explore a work of art in the Hunter's contemporary gallery through dance and dialogue focusing on the most pressing issues in our nation and community today. Japanese Movie Night

When: 6 p.m. 
Where: Jazzanooga Artspace, 431 E M L King Blvd #100
