August 11th-13th

Perseid Meteor Shower

When: Late night or predawn hours
Where: Chattanooga, TN 
Cost: Free

Grab your chairs, blankets, and coffee for an evening under the stars! The Perseid meteor shower is predicted to happen during the evening hours of August 11th through the 13th. Meteor showers are such a fun experience for the entire family and definitely worth losing a little bit of sleep. The key for prime viewing of a meteor shower is to get away from as much man made light as possible. Noogatoday has some great ideas on where to go get the best views. 


Thursday, August 18th

Chattanooga Margarita Festival

When: 6:00-9:00pm
Where: First Horizon Pavilion, 1826 Reggie White Blvd
Cost: $44

Do you like your margaritas salted, shaken, stirred or frozen? Or how about all of them?! The Chattanooga Margarita Festival is bringing together some of the best Chattanooga restaurants to compete for the title of "Best Margarita" in town. Grab your margarita passport as you enter and take your journey by sampling 12 mini margaritas and voting for which is the best. August 11th-13th

Best of Preps Jamboree

When: 6:00pm
Where: Finley Stadium, 1826 Carter St.
Cost: $10

Friday night football is just around the corner and what better way to preview what is to come this fall than by a 3 day jamboree? Presented by Chattanooga Sports, 23 football teams from Hamilton, Bradley, and Marion county will battle it out on the field. The preseason games will feature back to back 30 minutes games for a night full of exciting football! Due to the number of teams participating, Best of Preps will be spread out over the course of 3 days. Monday, August 13th

Farley Con Comic Book Expo

When: 10:00am
Where: Camp Jordan, 323 Camp Jordan Parkway
Cost: $20-$30

FarleyCon Comic Book Expo is East Ridge's premier multi-fandom pop culture convention. This year's celebrity guest line up is full of favorites! Guests include Ron Simmons, Lex Luger, Patricia Patts (Peppermint Patty), Matthew Atchley, Scott Steiner, and many more! Saturday, August 13th

RMHC Run4Kids

When: 9:00-11:30am
Where: Chattanooga State Community College, 4501 Amnicola Hwy
Cost: $15-$20

The weather this weekend is looking like it'll be a little cooler and more dry than this past week. What better way to enjoy it than by getting out for a walk/run and supporting a local charity? The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga is hosting their 2nd Annual 5k Run & Walk for families and friends! Over the years, RMHC has served thousands of families in the Chattanooga area by helping families stay close to their sick children in the hospital. For 30 years there have been many tears, laughter, sorrow, joy, love and compassion. Run4Kids is a celebration of the many RMHC families that have needed love and support during a hard time in their lives. You can choose from a 5k, walk, or even a virtual 5k to participate.
