Yoga & Brunch in West Village

Where: West Village, area between ML King Blvd. and 7th Street on Chestnut and Pine Streets

Join your fellow yogis for a free all levels intro vinyasa yoga class with prana vinyasa teacher Beth Keene. Class starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Westin. Bring your mat and a friend, and then enjoy brunch in West Village starting at 11 a.m.

Disney's Newsies comes to life on the Chattanooga Theatre Centre stage to open the 2018-2019 season! Based on the true 1899 story of a scrappy group of newsboys in New York City who become unlikely heroes when they rally forces to fight an unscrupulous newspaper tycoon, this Tony Award-winning musical features rollicking dance numbers, a rousing musical score and an inspirational, defy-all-odds story. Guest director Katherine Michelle Tanner guides a truly impressive cast, Andrew Parker literally elevates the ensemble with high-flying choreography, and Chattanooga's Grammy Award-winning composer Michael Huseman leads the inspired vocals. Sunset/Night Hike

When: 7-9 p.m.
Where: Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. 
Cost: Free 

Explore the trails of Stringer's Ridge Park by foot as the sun sets and enjoy a free guided hike provided by Outdoor Chattanooga. Please note you must register for this event to learn the meeting location. Approximately 3 miles round-trip, this leisurely paced hike will lead up to an overlook to get the best view of the full moon rising over the Scenic City's nighttime skyline and shimmering lights. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and clothes appropriate for the weather and bring their own water and a headlamp. Food Truck Fridays: Culture Fest

When: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 
Where: Miller Park, 900 Market St. 
Cost: Free

Come experience the rich cultural diversity of Chattanooga through arts, food, dance and live music during your lunch hour! With a newly opened park, there will also be a new slate of events and programs to be found in Downtown Chattanooga's Miller Park. In addition to the Rolling J's, Chatterbox, Clumpies and Go Gyro Go food trucks and cart that will be located on Market Street right beside Miller Park, each Friday will feature a different arts and cultural organization concluded by a local vendor fair to build community in the new public space.


Thursdays in October 

Fireside-Outdoor Concert Series

When: October 4, 11, 18 and 25th from 7-9 p.m.
Where: Greenway Farm, 5051 Gann Store Road
Cost: Free 

This free, family-friendly outdoor music series hosted by Outdoor Chattanooga gathers around a campfire at the City of Chattanooga's Greenway Farm Park. All ages are invited to come out to unplug and enjoy an autumn evening in the park. Bring your blankets and chairs, marshmallow roasting stick and a picnic supper; then sit back and enjoy live music in a rustic outdoor setting. The stage is located on the porch of the Sniteman Log Cabin behind the gardens at Greenway Farm Park.
