Our Guide to Chattanooga's Best Farmers' Markets

The Chattanooga area is full of makers and growers! In order to give us a way to support these artisans and local farmers, the city has become home to several markets. Nearly any day of the week you can get your hands on the highest quality local produce and handcrafted goods made by Chattanoogans for Chattanoogans! Check out our list below and go visit them while we still have some summer left: 

Chattanooga Market

When: Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April - December
Where: First Tennessee Pavilion, 1826 Reggie White Blvd. Chattanooga, TN 37408 

This is Chattanooga’s largest and arguably most beloved market in the Tennessee Valley. Named one of the “Top 10 Public Markets in America” by Formers and featuring more than 300 vendors, the Chattanooga Market is the region’s largest producer-only marketplace. The market includes over 50 farms bringing a variety of produce, meats and cheeses to the market each week, as well as many artisans and their art, crafts and other locally made products. Come hungry to this market and grab lunch from one of the many food trucks and listen to live music while you nosh! 


Cambridge Square Night Market 

When: Fridays 6-9 p.m., all summer
Where: Cambridge Square, 9453 Bradmore Lane, Ooltewah, TN 37363

The Cambridge Square Night Market is a great free or nearly free date night option. Enjoy live music in the square and snag a coffee or a glass of wine from the surrounding shops. This market offers a lot of arts and crafts, so plan to leave with a new piece of handmade jewelry or maybe another piece to add to your art collection. 


Holiday Market

When: December 1-18, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
Where: Chattanooga Convention Center, 1150 Carter St, Chattanooga, TN 37402

If you want to do all of your holiday shopping under one roof, this is the perfect place to do it. With handcrafted goods for everyone in the family from candles to children’s toy to corn hole games, you can find something for everyone on your list. 


Chattanooga River Market

When: Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Tennessee Aquarium Plaza, 1 Broad St. Chattanooga, TN 37402

A smaller affair, the Chattanooga River Market is a great addition to the area next to the backdrop of the beautiful Tennessee River. Enjoy live music, handcrafted goods and apparel, and a free yoga class at 10 a.m. 


Erlanger Market

When: Wednesdays and Fridays 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 
Where: Erlanger East Hospital Medical Mall, 979 E 3rd St C-920, Chattanooga, TN 37403

Brand new for 2017, this extension of The Chattanooga Market is nestled in the Erlanger Hospital Medical Mall. The indoor mini-market includes local farmers, food artisans and other local products. 


Main Street Farmers Market

When:  March-November Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m. and December-February Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m.
Where: Corner of Main & Chestnut, Downtown Chattanooga, 37405

Main Street Farmers Market is a producers-only, farmer-run market in which every vender has been inspected by the Board of Directors to prove that they are producing high quality, sustainably grown and prepared goods. The farms are all located in a 75 mile radius of downtown Chattanooga and must practice environmentally friendly farming methods.


Ooltewah Farmers Market

When: April - October Thursdays from 3-6 p.m. and November - May from 3-5 p.m.
Where: Ooltewah Nursery & Landscape Co., 5829 Main St, Ooltewah, TN 37363

A little further out there but worth the drive, the Ooltewah Farmers Market is a producers-only farmers market featuring only locally grown/raised food from family farms to your family’s table. Each farm is inspected by the market manager to insure that its products are locally grown. Come find products like organic vegetables & fruits, fresh breads & baked goods, grass-fed non-GMO beef & pork, free-range eggs, pasture-raised poultry & lamb, goat milk & cheeses, salads & greens, fruits & berries, mushrooms, local raw honey and raw cow’s milk by herd share. 


Lookout Farmers Market

When: Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.; Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Where: Tuesday - Christ United Methodist Church (East Brainerd) and Wednesday - Memorial Hospital,

Enjoy farm fresh, locally and sustainably grown vegetables, fruit, herbs, meat, cheese, eggs, honey, jams, bread, baked goods, non-GMO animal feed, farm to table meals, art, music, candles, soap, children's activities, entertainment and more. This is a smaller market, but worth the stop. 


Signal Mountain Farmers Market

When: Thursdays from 4-6 p.m.
Where: Pruett’s Grocery Store, 1210 Taft Hwy. Signal Mountain, TN 37377

The mission of the Signal Mountain Farmers' Market is to provide a place where local farmers, producers, crafters and artisans come together to provide a variety of fresh produce and related products directly to the consumer.  The market encourages direct communication between consumers and growers and fosters social gathering and community building.


Brainerd Farmers Market

When: April - October Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and November - March Saturdays from 11 a.m. to noon
Where: Grace Episcopal Church, 20 Belvoir Ave. Chattanooga, TN 37411

A smaller market, this local hub frequently hosts local musicians to entertain while you shop at the market. There is also an information stand with recipes, cooking demo and local food information. The Market is a comfortable place for people to come, mingle and buy sustainably-sourced local food.
