It’s that time again! Love it or hate it, tonight's the night when Tennessee River at Ross’s Landing will start it's eight-day shut down for the Riverbend Festival. Whether you're planning on going or planning on avoiding it, we've got everything you need to know! 

Celebrating more than 35 years, this annual music festival features a wide variety of artists covering almost every music genre. With five stages and nearly 100 performing acts, the schedule can get a little crazy. We've included a breakdown below, as well as a link to a downloadable PDF version. Speaking of crazy, don't forget about Riverbend Traffic! Check out the info below for all of the road closures you need to know about. 


Road Closures and Traffic Alerts

The 2017 Riverbend Festival begins on June 9 and some streets in downtown Chattanooga have closed as organizers prepare for opening night. 

For the Festival site: Riverside Drive/Riverfront Parkway from Aquarium Way to Molly Lane, the southbound off ramp from Veterans Bridge, Power Alley from Aquarium Way to Riverfront Parkway, and Chestnut Street from Aquarium Way to Riverfront Parkway are currently closed until Monday, June 19. 

Riverbend Event nights: From 3:30 pm until midnight from June 9 - June 17, Riverside Drive's closure will extend from Lindsay Street to Molly Lane. Also, Aquarium Way from Walnut Street to Riverside Drive, Lookout Street from East 3rd Street to Riverside Drive, and Walnut Street from Aquarium Way to the walking bridge will be closed.

MONDAY, JUNE 12 (BESSIE SMITH STRUT)

On Monday, Riverbend takes a break and the party moves to the historic Martin Luther King Blvd. in downtown Chattanooga for the Bessie Smith Strut. This celebration is named for the Empress of the Blues and takes place on what was once "The Big Nine," or Ninth Street, as it was known in the early 20th century, when the area had a thriving music scene.
