Head of the Hooch

When: Saturday, 9am-7pm, Sunday, 7am-3pm
Where: Ross's Landing, 201 riverfront Pkwy
Cost: Free to spectate

The Head of the Hooch regatta has become a well known event in Chattanooga that is so much fun to watch! The regatta is a head race – competitors row a 4,500-meter (2.8 miles) course on the Tennessee River ending at Ross’s Landing Park. The best place to view the finish line is from the grandstands in Ross’s Landing Park. Spectators can watch from the Walnut Street Bridge, Coolidge Park, or even from the Riverwalk. Halloween on a Monday means an extra day to dress up with friends, take the kids trick or treating, and spend the evening celebrating. While the weather is looking a bit questionable, there is still plenty to do regardless of your age around Chattanooga and the North Georgia area.
