After nearly a hundred year wait, a rare total eclipse is happening this Monday, August 21. Although Chattanooga is not quite in the path of totality, we’ve got a solid 99.5% viewing here—so if you don’t want to travel, you really don’t have to. 

In Chattanooga, the eclipse will start at 1:02 p.m., and 99.55 percent of the sun’s light will be covered at 2:32 p.m. If you plan on staying here for the big event, we’ve got you covered with some of the best ways to celebrate locally!
