Red Sauce

14 W Kent St, Chattanooga, TN 37405
(423) 805-4733

After a very short-lived stint as a drive-thru coffee shop, this building on the corner of Kent Street finally found new life recently as Red Sauce, a casual Italian restaurant. This eatery’s aim is on yummy meatballs and craft cocktails with a “Brooklyn-meets-Philly-meets-Little Italy-meets-the 1960s-meets-Chattanooga” approach. Although currently we’re hearing some mixed reviews on the eatery, it’s not uncommon for a new place to need a minute to work out the kinks. Give it a try and let us know what you think!

We never miss a chance to brag on our favorite St. Elmo restaurant, 1885. This local eatery features Southern Coastal fare, plus really amazing patio seating. Although you’ll have to bundle up this season, it’s worth it to enjoy some live music on a Friday or Saturday night. They also usually feature live music during Sunday brunch, so make yourself a drink at the $3.50 bloody mary bar, and enjoy! For more information,…

If you're looking for delicious Italian food, Chattanooga does not disappoint! Check out our insider's guide to Italian eating in the Scenic City.

Most Authentic

Boccaccia

3077 South Broad Street
Chattanooga, TN 37408

This Chattanooga hidden gem is located just between downtown and St. Elmo in the old Southern Saddlery Building. Although it’s barely visible from the road, this tucked away restaurant offers the most authentic Italian dining experience in the city. With a brick interior and a quiet ambiance, Boccaccia is the perfect place for a romantic date night out. We recommend the Orecchiette con Salsiccia alla Piemontese, an orecchietta pasta with braised Italian sausage, roasted peppers and fresh goat cheese—yum!

Chattanooga is amazing for so many reasons, but one of our personal favorites is the city’s friendliness to our four-legged friends. Oliver, our little 5-pound ball of fluff, is like family to us—which means we love to take him with us while we explore the city! If you’re looking for places that are dog friendly, we’ve got you covered.

Shopping

Nooga Paws
313 Manufacturers Rd., Suite 111

This is our favorite local stop for all of our dog’s needs from homemade treats and specialized food to bowties and new toys. The best part of this shop, beyond it being dog-friendly, is that it specializes in natural dog care. If you’re like us, you want the best for your pup, and we love that NoogaPaws offers all-natural choices so we know exactly what kind…

Word on the Street: Don’t miss the Buffalo Calamari appetizer with fried domestic calamari tossed in buffalo sauce and served with celery and blue cheese or ranch dressing

The Southside neighborhood just got a little bit more awesome with the addition of The FEED Co. Table and Tavern. It’s no small wonder that this Southern-inspired farm-to-table fare is getting rave reviews, as the owners are Chattanooga favorites for their other projects.
